In december 2002 I received an early christmas gift from my girlfriend Constanze: a one-year adoption of a penguin :)
As I consider penguins to be among the cutest of animals (the reason not only being my infamous linux affiliation and advocacy), I decided to put up a small page dedicated to Froschi, the Magellanic penguin from the Falkland Islands.
It seems to me that my email traffic is a bit distorted for a change ... this email should probably have arrived before the last one. Anyways, due to the heavy rainfalls, most penguins' burrows are flooded. Good news is that Froschi still has both her (his? what sex is [s]he? i will assume her to be female from now on) eggs.
The penguins chicks (as soon as they hatch) will not drown in the burrows; but they will probably not hatch at all if they stay filled because the penguins are likely to abandon filled burrows :(.

Second email. This mail says that the megallanice penguins suffered from heavy rain in november; and that finally a penguin was picked to bear the name Froschi. Take a look at the pics, weeeeeeee isn't he cute?

First email notification from early december 2002. This is how I found out about what would happen =)
