I have no clue if anyone is interested in this. Most likely not. It probably just serves as a reminder for myself :)
Talk at the Humboldt University Berlin, with 24 people attending. Two times 4 to 5 hours, this was actually called a 'workshop' and not just a talk. Two dozen is already quite a large crowd :)
MapServer Schulung (seminar), march 2003, 4 days with 7 hours each again, with 4 to 6 people this time. Same place again.
These seminars are fun actually; I tell people things that are new to them, and if at least one curious person attends that asks clever questions, the whole thing just flows. With enough time left at hand (these guys were really fast this time), we can even go into more detail of solving actual problems. Though my company would rather sell a support contract in this case of course.
My MapServer Handbook for version 3.6 has been published, the first german book on the topic. It has an ISBN and everything. There are quite a lot of orders, more than we at MapMedia would have expected that is. It's not exactly a bestseller in amazon.de terms, but people seem to like it :) It's only available in german so far.
MapServer Schulung (seminar), november 2002. 4 days, 7 hours each. attendance was 5 people. Took place in the rooms of the company I work for.
Early 2002, there was a seminar for 4 people from a public institution from a bit outside Berlin. Potsdam, to be exact. I have no idea whether I am allowed to mention where exactly, I just add this one to show that I even travel a bit for this if necessary :)
I am not involved with the development of the software at all. I did not even have the time to read the sources as much as I would like to. I once sent in a patch that fixed some typos when it came to PDF support (the thing tried to link to -lPDF when it should look for -lpdf etc), but I am not even sure if they used it for fixing the problem :) Bottom line, don't ask me if you want to change things. I don't have 'a foot in the door', as a german saying goes.
